In diesem Zusammenhang sei auf die Empfehlung Nr. 26b des Aktionsplans zur Bekämpfung der organisierten Kriminalität, wonach der Straftatbestand der Geldwäsche möglichst umfassend definiert werden soll, sowie auf das Programm der österreichischen Ratspräsidentschaft hingewiesen, in dem es im Kapitel "Justice and Home Affairs" heißt, "Austria will also be urging all the Member States to recognise all serious crimes as predicate crimes for money laundering" (Änderungsantrag 5).
