Die PETROBOT-Initiative geht auf ein FuE-Programm zurück, das von Shell Global Solutions International B.V., einem Unternehmensteil der Royal Dutch Shell plc, mit Unterstützung von Quasset B.V., einem niederländischen Mittelstandsunternehmen, das sich auf die Entwicklung von Zustandsbewertungstechnologie spezialisiert hat, durchgeführt wurde.
Het PETROBOT-initiatief komt voort uit een OO-programma dat Shell Global Solutions International B.V., een onderdeel van Royal Dutch Shell plc, heeft uitgevoerd met ondersteuning van Quasset B.V., een Nederlands mkb-bedrijf met expertise op het gebied van de ontwikkeling van keuringstechnologie.
