The EU is also active in other relevant multilateral fora, such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).

Discussions will also focus on issues related with the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) that will take place in December in Geneva.This Forum will also debate ways to strengthen the participation of Latin American and Caribbean organisations in the Commission's IST Research and Development programme, taking advantage of the new financing possibilities under the international co-operation section of the sixth framework programme.
Les discussions porteront également sur des points à aborder lors du sommet mondial sur la société de l'information (SMSI), qui doit se dérouler en décembre à Genève. Le forum examinera en outre les moyens de renforcer la participation des organisations d'Amérique latine et des Caraïbes au programme de recherche et de développement TSI de la Commission, en tirant profit des nouvelles possibilités de financement offertes par le volet «coopération internationale» du sixième programme-cadre.

5.2 ensure, as far as possible, coordinated EU positions by working closely together in all relevant forums, including in the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) and the Task Force on Financial Mechanisms (TFFM), and to strive for the largest possible reflection of these positions in the results of the deliberations throughout the second phase of the WSIS;
