57. Criticises the fact that the issue of Western Sahara has not been placed on the agenda for the 2016 sessions of the HRC; emphasises once again that the Western Sahara conflict is a decolonisation issue and that, under international law, the Kingdom of Morocco has no sovereignty over Western Sahara and is regarded as the occupying power; condemns the persistent violation of the fundamental rights of the Sahrawi people; calls for the protection of the fundamental rights of the people of Western Sahara, including freedom of association, freedom of expression and the right to demonstrate; calls for the immediate release of all Sahrawi political prisoners and, as a matter of urgency, of the members of the Gdeim Izik group condemned by the Moroccan military tribunal; repeats its call to Spain to grant political asylum to the young Sahrawi Hassana Aalia, sentenced by a court to life imprisonment; stresses the need for international monitoring of the human rights situation in Western Sahara; calls on Morocco and the Polisario Front to continue the negotiations which are designed to lead to a peaceful and lasting solution to the Western Sahara conflict, and reaffirms the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, which must be decided by a democratic referendum held in accordance with United Nations Resolutions 34/37 and 35/19;

Recalls its resolution of 25 November 2010 on the situation in Western Sahara; condemns the ongoing repression of Sahrawi people in the occupied territories and calls for their fundamental rights, including freedom of association, freedom of expression and the right to demonstrate, to be respected; calls for the release of the 80 Sahrawi political prisoners and, as a matter of priority, of the 23 who have been held without trial in Salé prison following the dismantling of the Gdeim Izik camp; reiterates its call for the establishment of an international mechanism to monitor human rights in the Western Sahara and for a fair and lasting settlement of the conflict on the basis of the right to self-determination of the Sahrawi people, in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions;

Regrets that the UNHRC has been unable sufficiently promptly to address other serious human rights situations; calls on EU Member States to condemn human rights violations and actively seek the creation of dedicated UNHRC mechanisms to respond to the human rights crises in Afghanistan, Guinea Conakry, Iran, Yemen, Iraq and Western Sahara; maintains that the UN mandate includes monitoring of the human rights situation in Western Sahara;
9. déplore que le CDH ne soit pas parvenu à traiter de manière suffisamment rapide d'autres situations de violation grave des droits de l'homme; invite les États membres de l'Union européenne à condamner les violations des droits de l'homme et à promouvoir activement la création de mécanismes dédiés du CDH pour faire face aux crises des droits de l'homme en Afghanistan, en Guinée-Conakry, en Iran, au Yémen, en Iraq et au Sahara occidental; soutient que le mandat de l'ONU comprend la surveillance de la situation des droits de l'homme au Sahara occidental;
