If the legislation of a Member State subordinates recognition of entitlement to a benefit to the completion of a minimum period of insurance during a determined period preceding the contingency insured against (reference period) and lays down that periods during which benefits were paid under the legislation of that Member State or periods devoted to child-rearing in the territory of that Member State shall extend this reference period, the periods during which invalidity or old age pensions or sickness, unemployment, industrial accidents at work or occupational disease benefits were paid under the legislation of another Member State and periods devoted to child-rearing in the territory of another Member State shall also extend this reference period’.
Si la législation d'un État membre subordonne la reconnaissance du droit à une prestation à l'accomplissement d'une période d'assurance minimale au cours d'une période déterminée précédant la survenance du fait assuré (période de référence) et dispose que les périodes au cours desquelles des prestations ont été servies au titre de la législation de cet État membre ou les périodes consacrées à l'éducation des enfants sur le territoire de cet État membre prolongent cette période de référence, les périodes au cours desquelles des pensions d'invalidité ou de vieillesse ou des prestations de maladie, de chômage, d'accident de travail ou de maladie professionnelle ont été servies au titre de la législation d'un autre État membre et les périodes consacrées à l'éducation des enfants sur le territoire d'un autre État membre prolongent également ladite période de référence».
