These legislative reforms are aimed, in particular, at ensuring greater individualisation of the measures ordered, so that the individuals protected can continue to exercise certain rights, and at the advance implementation of any protection arrangements. Such is the case, for example, with the lasting power of Attorney in English law, which is a voluntary private agreement made on one’s own or with the assistance of a lawyer, or the Vollmacht in German law, which can be made on one’s own, or by notarial deed if the disposal of property is involved.
