The European Parliament, expressing the view that Rafiq Hariri was not only one of the most influential politicians but also one of the most devoted to the reconciliation process in Lebanon and a strong supporter of the withdrawal of foreign troops from his country, vigorously condemned the attack and called for swift progress by the inquiry that was immediately set up by the UN Security Council.

J’ai toujours considéré que l’isolement de ce pays n’apporterait rien de bon au niveau international et ne ferait pas progresser la paix dans la région.
