The minister attempted to improve the draft in clause 50, but the fact remains that the board currently has the discretion to deliver the name and address of an employee to a union that has no interest in that employee or the company, has not been chosen by either side to have a relationship with that employee—that employee's name and address can, against their will, be delivered to the trade union.

(19) Since the objective of this Regulation, namely the adoption of uniform rules for the use of textile fibre names and related labelling and marking of fibre composition of textile products, cannot be sufficiently achieved by the Member States and can therefore, by reason of its scale, be better achieved at Union level, the Union may adopt measures, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity as set out in Article 5 of the Treaty on European Union.
