An amendment to the Part IV of the Annex to Directive 2001/83/EC adopted on 14 September 2009 adapted some of the requirements in terms of the content of marketing authorisation applications for ATMPs.[5] In addition, a revised Guideline on good manufacturing practice containing specific adaptions for ATMPs applies since 31 January 2013.[6] However, the adoption of specific requirements regarding good clinical practice and traceability is still pending as additional experience was deemed necessary to better understand the type of adaptations required.[7]
