– Mr President, I wish to congratulate the President-in-Office on the way in which, with characteristic Finnish honesty but uncharacteristic Presidency bluntness, he has described the difficulties in the Council of getting Member States to agree on things, and how impossible it is to make progress in certain areas where we have unanimity.
- (EN) Monsieur le Président, je souhaite féliciter le président du Conseil pour la manière, empreinte de l’honnêteté finlandaise caractéristique, mais également du franc-parler de la présidence qui l’est moins, dont il a décrit les difficultés que le Conseil éprouve pour arracher un accord aux États membres et l’impossibilité d’effectuer des progrès dans certains domaines qui requièrent l’unanimité.
