A. whereas on 14 December 2014 the Turkish police arrested journalists and media executives, including Ekrem Dumanlı, editor-in-chief of the Zaman newspaper, and Hidayet Karaca, general manager of the Samanyolu broadcasting group; whereas a warrant, issued by a judge in Istanbul, states that they were under criminal investigation for forming an organisation that had ‘by pressure, intimidation and threats attempted to seize state power’ and that they had done so ’through lies, depriving people of their liberty and falsifying documents’;
A. considérant que, le 14 décembre 2014, la police turque a arrêté des journalistes et des responsables de médias, dont Ekrem Dumanlı, rédacteur en chef du journal Zaman , et Hidayet Karaca, directeur général du groupe de radiodiffusion Samanyolu; considérant qu'un mandat émis par un juge d'Istanbul indique qu'ils faisaient l'objet d'une enquête judiciaire pour avoir créé une organisation ayant usé de pressions, d'intimidations et de menaces dans le but de s'emparer de la souveraineté de l'État et qu'ils ont agi en ce sens en mentant, en privant des personnes de leur liberté et en falsifiant des documents;

Welcomes the establishment of a specialised domestic violence bureau within the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office; stresses that by ensuring that the entire legal process in cases of violence against women is handled by public prosecutors who are experts in domestic violence, by granting this specialised bureau the authority to issue immediately effective direct orders to the police to arrest the perpetrator and protect the victim, including the immediate enforcement of protection orders and transfer to shelters, this office has achieved an important step in combating violence against women, protecting the victims and punishing the perpetrators; in order to extend this level of protection to the entire country, calls on the Turkish government to establish specialised public prosecutors’ bureaus to deal with domestic violence in all the country’s provinces;
