J'aimerais profiter de cette occasion pour rendre hommage et saluer tous ceux, tant les propriétaires de petites et moyennes entreprises que ceux qui y oeuvrent, les employés, tant féminins que masculins, de mon comté de Trois-Rivières, en commençant par la municipalité de Trois-Rivières, Trois-Rivières-Ouest, Pointe-du-Lac, Yamachiche où nous avons une belle et impressionnante PME qui s'appelle Dufresne et Fils, qui oeuvre sur tout le continent nord-américain.

To conclude, I only wish that like France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and shortly Korea and Great Britain, we had a HST between Quebec City and Windsor which would use the North shore and stop in Trois-Rivières. This project would be a joint venture between the governments of Canada, Ontario and Quebec, notwithstanding the comment by my colleague from the Reform Party who said that, given the risk that Quebec might become sovereign, we should perhaps delay or rethink such a project.
En conclusion, je souhaite simplement qu'à l'exemple de la France, de l'Allemagne, de l'Italie, de l'Espagne, du Japon et bientôt de la Corée et de la Grande-Bretagne, un TGV circule de Québec à Windsor, en passant par la rive nord et en s'arrêtant à Trois-Rivières, et ce avec la collaboration du gouvernement du Canada, du gouvernement de l'Ontario et du gouvernement du Québec, et en oubliant ce genre de commentaire de mon collègue du Parti réformiste qui a dit tantôt que, compte tenu de l'éventualité de la souveraineté du Québec, on pourrait peut-être reporter et repenser un projet comme celui-là.

I hope that the mayors and all the associations and lobby groups seize this opportunity and realize the importance of this project and its potential impact on Trois-Rivières. I hope that all of our region joins in so that if ever the HST becomes a reality, it stops in Trois-Rivières.
Je souhaite que les maires, que toutes les associations, que tous les groupes de pression saisissent l'occasion, voient l'importance de ce projet, voient l'importance pour Trois-Rivières de faire en sorte que toute notre région en bénéficie en livrant la bataille pour que, si jamais le projet de TGV se réalise, qu'il s'arrête à Trois-Rivières.

As the member for Trois-Rivières, I have a special interest in this project, not only because I hope it will get the go ahead, but also because I hope that it will extend to the Saint-Lawrence North Shore and that a station will be built in my riding, the city of Trois-Rivières, which also happens to be the regional capital of the Mauricie area.
J'ai un intérêt particulier, comme député de Trois-Rivières, dans ce dossier, parce que, non seulement je souhaite que ce projet se fasse mais, de plus, je souhaite qu'il se fasse sur la rive nord du Saint-Laurent et qu'un arrêt soit prévu dans ma circonscription, dans la ville de Trois-Rivières, qui est en même temps la capitale régionale de la Mauricie.
