Ce débat contribuera selon moi au résultat du Sommet, tout comme les travaux préparatoires que nous avons réalisés avec la Commission et qui se sont matérialisés sous la forme de ces trois importants ateliers de Stockholm, Madrid et Prague.

So it is our hope that, with the help of the European social partners and on the basis of the preparatory works in the form of these three workshops as well as this debate here, the European Employment Summit will succeed in identifying further steps which can be taken as a matter of urgency to respond to the serious situation which currently faces our citizens and to help us to create a Union which is stronger and also more competitive in future.
Nous espérons donc qu’avec l’aide des partenaires sociaux européens et sur la base des travaux préparatoires des trois ateliers et de ce débat, le Sommet européen de l’emploi parviendra à identifier d’autres mesures à prendre d’urgence afin de répondre à la gravité de la situation dans laquelle se trouvent actuellement nos concitoyens et à nous aider à créer une Union qui soit plus forte et aussi plus compétitive à l’avenir.
