– (NL) Mr President, I will start by expressing my respect for the rapporteur’s – Mr Sacconi’s – working spirit and resolve, but I am also indebted to the tenacious attitude displayed by a number of Members, including Mr Nassauer, Mr Vidal-Quadras Roca, Mrs Herczog, Mrs Erika Mann, Mr Thomas Mann, Mr Langen, Mrs Roth-Behrendt, Mr Goebbels, Mr Manders and others, because without them as fellow fighters for a workable REACH, we would not have reached a result.
- (NL) Monsieur le Président, je commencerai par saluer l’esprit d’initiative et la résolution du rapporteur, M. Sacconi, et je me félicite également de la ténacité de certains députés, dont M. Nassauer, M. Vidal-Quadras Roca, Mme Herczog, Mme Erika Mann, M. Thomas Mann, M. Langen, Mme Roth-Behrendt, M. Goebbels, M. Manders et d’autres car, sans eux, qui ont lutté ensemble pour obtenir un projet REACH viable, nous n’aurions débouché sur rien de concret.

I wish to thank most warmly the many fellow MEPs who invested their labour and brought fresh courage to this venture, especially my co-rapporteur, Mr García-Margallo y Marfil of the European People's Party group in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the many shadow rapporteurs in both committees, most of all Thomas Mann in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, all of whom gave a great deal of dedication to our common cause.
