This Regulation concerns the production, placing on the market, use, release and disposal of substances subject to prohibitions or restrictions under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, hereinafter “the Convention”, or the 1998 Protocol to the 1979 Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution on Persistent Organic Pollutants, hereinafter “the Protocol”.

Endorses the Commission's views on the importance of the independence of statutory auditors; calls on the Commission, therefore, to make the existing recommendations on this subject binding, prohibiting auditors from carrying out audits if they have any relationship with the client that might compromise their independence; also calls on the Commission to submit a proposal for a directive laying down harmonised rules on the auditor's profession;
34. partage l'avis de la Commission sur l'importance de l'indépendance des réviseurs légaux aux comptes et l'invite, par voie de conséquence, à rendre contraignantes les recommandations existant dans ce domaine en interdisant aux réviseurs aux comptes d'effectuer une révision en cas de lien avec le client qui pourrait en compromettre l'indépendance; invite en outre la Commission à déposer une proposition de directive qui définisse des règles harmonisées relatives à la profession de réviseur aux comptes;

Export notifications received by the Commission from the Designated National Authority of a party or another country concerning the export to the Community of a chemical the manufacture, use, handling, consumption, transport and/or sale of which is subject to prohibition or severe restriction under that party's or other country's legislation shall be made available by electronic means through the database maintained by the Commission.
