Even if I wanted to gloss over the veiled pro-Palestinian slant that pervades the European institutions and which sometimes seems to slide into anti-Semitism, I should in any case have to stress yet again how incapable Europe is: through trying to be politically correct as usual, it has been unwilling to adopt a clear, precise position.
Même si je voulais passer outre le parti pris pro-palestinien voilé qui envahit les institutions européennes et qui semble parfois basculer dans l’antisémitisme, je devrais de toute façon souligner une fois de plus à quel point l’Europe est incapable: en essayant d’être politiquement correcte, comme d’habitude, elle a refusé d’adopter une position claire et précise.

We agree as regards vaccinations: mandatory vaccinations are not yet feasible; preventive, emergency vaccinations are more appropriate but there must be well-coordinated emergency plans: not plans generated by emotion on the spur of the moment at the height of a crisis but plans which take into account the situation throughout Europe and the historical development of the disease, so that such disasters can be understood and prevented – prevent being a word which needs to be stressed once again in this House.
D'accord pour la vaccination : la vaccination obligatoire n'est pas encore praticable ; il vaut mieux recourir à la vaccination préventive, d'urgence, mais avec des plans d'urgence bien coordonnés : pas sous l'effet accidentel de l'émotion provoquée par la phase aiguë de la crise, mais en tenant compte de l'ensemble du contexte territorial et aussi de l'évolution historique du phénomène épidémiologique, pour comprendre et prévenir, "prévenir" étant un mot qu'il est bon de faire résonner encore une fois dans cette Assemblée.

Yet all we need to do to see how far we have come is look beyond our frontiers: Europe is once again a force to be reckoned with and is arousing interest everywhere: in America, in Asia, in Africa, in the North and in the South.
Mais un regard au-delà de nos frontières 10 suffit pour mesurer le chemin parcouru : l'Europe existe à nouveau, elle suscite l'intérêt partout, en Amérique, en Asie, en Afrique, au Sud comme au Nord.
