The former chief economist of the World Bank, Sir Nicholas Stern, has underlined in its report to the British government that "our actions over the coming decades could create risks of major disruption to economic and social activity, later in this century and in the next, on a scale similar to those associated with the great wars and the economic depression of the first half of the 20th century" (Stern Report, p. 572).
L'ancien économiste en chef de la Banque mondiale, Sir Nicholas Stern, a souligné dans son rapport au gouvernement britannique que "nos actions dans les prochaines décennies risquent de porter gravement atteinte à l'activité économique et sociale de ce siècle et du prochain, à un degré comparable aux crises dues aux grandes guerres et à la dépression économique de la première moitié du XX siècle" (Rapport Stern, p. 572).
