L. whereas on 13 August 2014 the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Zainab Hawa Bangura, and the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Nickolay Mladenov, issued a joint statement confirming that some 1 500 Christian and Yazidi women may have been kidnapped by ISIL and subsequently forced into sexual slavery; whereas in that statement, both Special Representatives recognised the explicit targeting of women and children and the barbaric acts perpetrated by Daesh on minorities in areas under its control;

The Commission recognises the significant contribution made by the Special Representative to the Secretary General on international migration and development (SRSG) to promoting migration-development issues as well as the potential role of the GMG as the inter-agency coordination body on migration.

20. mesure le rôle primordial du BIDDH dans l'observation des élections et dans la promotion des droits de l'homme et de la démocratisation, ainsi que des droits des minorités, y compris les Roms et les Sintis; souligne le rôle et le devoir du haut commissaire aux minorités nationales dans le renforcement de la coexistence pacifique des communautés minoritaires et dans la prévention des conflits ethniques au moyen de tous les mécanismes nécessaires d'alerte rapide; salue en outre le travail de la représentante pour la liberté des médias et de la représentante spéciale et coordinatrice pour la lutte contre la traite des être humains; demande à participer activement aux activités du BIDDH;
