There has been action on fronts related to Asian and Pacific countries, in the transatlantic relationship, in the relationship with Russia, with other countries of Central and Eastern Europe and even with Central Asia. There has been progress in approving a common strategy for the Mediterranean and an action plan for the Nordic dimension of the European Union, which, in my opinion, combine perfectly to address the problems of both Northern and Southern Europe. This demonstrates that our vision is not unilateral and is not aimed in any particular geographical direction, but is based on a genuinely universal vision.
Signalons en outre le travail qui a permis de conclure les négociations en vue du renouvellement de la convention de Lomé et les accords avec le Mexique et avec l'Afrique du Sud, l'ouverture des négociations avec Mercosur et une action intense sur les fronts euro-méditerranéen et du Moyen-Orient, sur les fronts liés aux pays d'Asie et du Pacifique, concernant les relations transatlantiques, concernant les relations avec la Russie et avec d'autres pays de l'Europe centrale et orientale et avec l'Asie centrale, et concernant l'approbation d'une stratégie commune pour la Méditerranée et d'un plan d'action pour la dimension nordique de l'Union européenne, deux aspects qui, selon moi, se complètent très bien car ils sont liés au sud et au nord de l'Union européenne, ce qui montre que notre vocation n'est pas unilatérale, quelle n'est orientée géographiquement dans aucune direction, notre vocation étant véritablement universaliste.
