Finally, the fourth pillar consists of coordinating macroeconomic policies in order to guarantee both the stability that we have already achieved which has provided a basis for the euro, with low inflation, low public deficits and also a macroeconomic environment which is more favourable to growth, employment, innovation and entrepreneurship.
C'est là une base essentielle de nos systèmes de protection sociale, qui repose sur les quatre piliers fondamentaux suivant : premièrement, la préparation de l'Union européenne à une économie de la connaissance via des instruments d'action sur le plan de la société de l'information, de la science et de la technologie, de la formation et de l'éducation ; deuxièmement, la réalisation des réformes économiques indispensables à notre compétitivité et innovation, en approfondissant le processus de réformes économiques nécessaires à la création d'un marché intérieur totalement intégré ou en adoptant de nouvelles politiques d'innovation et d'entreprise ; troisièmement, l'affirmation de la cohésion sociale, fondée sur l'emploi, sur les réformes en vue de garantir la pérennité de nos modèles de protection sociale, sur la lutte contre l'exclusion ; et, enfin, quatrièmement, la coordination des politiques macro-économiques en vue de garantir simultanément la stabilité que nous avons atteinte et qui a servi de base à l'euro, via un taux d'inflation réduit, la réduction des déficits publics, mais également en instaurant un cadre macro-économique plus favorable à la croissance, à l'emploi, à l'innovation et à l'esprit d'entreprise.
