1. The competent authorities shall, promptly and in any event within two working days following receipt of the notification required under the first subparagraph of Article 11(1), as well as following the possible subsequent receipt of the information referred to in paragraph 2 of this Article, acknowledge receipt thereof in writing to the proposed acquirer.

The Commission shall inform the European Parliament and the Council without delay of the notification received by the Member States concerned and examine the notification taking into account the number of Member States affected by any of the situations described in paragraph 1 and the overall impact of the increases on the migratory situation in the Union as the latter appears from the data provided by the Member States as well as from reports prepared by FRONTEX and/or the European Asylum Support Office and, within three months following receipt thereof, the Commission shall send the results of its examination to the European Parliament and the Council, which shall give their opinion in a timely manner, after which the Commission may adopt an implementing decision suspending the exemption of visa requirement for the nationals of the third country concerned for a period of six months. The implementing decision shall be adopted in accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 4a (2).

La Commission informe, sans délai, le Parlement européen et le Conseil de la notification reçue par les États membres concernés et l'examine en tenant compte du nombre d'États membres touchés par une ou plusieurs des situations décrites au paragraphe 1 et de l'incidence globale de ces accroissements sur la situation migratoire dans l'Union telle qu'elle ressort des données fournies par les États membres ainsi que des rapports établis par l'agence Frontex et/ou le Bureau européen d'appui en matière d'asile, et, dans les trois mois suivant la réception de ces informations, elle transmet les résultats de son examen au Parlement européen et au Conseil, qui donnent leur avis en temps opportun, après quoi elle peut adopter une décision d'exécution portant suspension de l'exemption de l'obligation de visa pour les ressortissants du pays tiers en question pendant six mois La décision d'exécution est adoptée dans le respect de la procédure prévue par l'article 4 bis, paragraphe 2.
