The selection of the local action groups will be made by a selection committee composed by representatives from the government of the Autonomous Community of Andalucia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Andalusian Federation of Local councils and Counties (Federación de municipios y provincias), the Confederation of Industrialists of Andalusia, the Trade Union Organistations signatory to the Pact by Employment and the Rural Asociation of Andalusia.

The Government of Ontario made an immediate effort to address public unease by establishing the Select Committee on Ontario Hydro Nuclear Affairs. The report of the Select Committee concluded that the nuclear reactors were being operated safely, but made 39 recommendations for improvements five of which were directed at the federal regulator or the Government of Canada.
