To safeguard the application of the Schengen acquis throughout the Schengen area, the implementation of Council Regulation (EU) No 1053/2013 should also be supported under the Instrument, as an essential tool to facilitate the implementation of Union policies in the area of freedom, justice and security by ensuring a high level of external border protection and the absence of border controls within the Schengen area.
Pour garantir l’application de l’acquis de Schengen dans l’ensemble de l’espace Schengen, la mise en œuvre du règlement (UE) no 1053/2013 du Conseil devrait également être soutenue au titre de l’instrument, car il s’agit d’un instrument essentiel pour faciliter la mise en œuvre des politiques de l’Union dans l’espace de liberté, de justice et de sécurité en assurant un niveau élevé de protection des frontières extérieures ainsi que l’absence de contrôles aux frontières au sein de l’espace Schengen.

(22) To safeguard the application of the Schengen acquis throughout the Schengen area, the implementation of the Regulation on the establishment of an evaluation and monitoring mechanism to verify the application of the Schengen acquis should also be supported under this Regulation, as an essential tool to facilitate the implementation of Union policies in the area of Freedom, Justice and Security by ensuring a high level of external border protection and the absence of border controls within the Schengen area.
(22) Pour garantir l'application de l'acquis de Schengen dans l'ensemble de l'espace Schengen, la mise en œuvre du règlement (UE) n° 1053/2013 devrait également être soutenue au titre du présent règlement, car il s'agit d'un instrument essentiel pour faciliter la mise en œuvre des politiques de l'Union dans l'espace de liberté, de justice et de sécurité en assurant un niveau élevé de protection des frontières extérieures ainsi que l'absence de contrôles aux frontières au sein de l'espace Schengen.
