– Mr President, sadly, Salafist forces that are part of the global al-Qaeda franchise have found sanctuary in the Sahel region, which is a vast and remote territory ideal for them for purposes of terrorist training, kidnapping unfortunate innocents – and here I extend my condolences to the families of the two French citizens recently murdered – and, of course, drug smuggling and organised crime.
– (EN) Monsieur le Président, hélas, les troupes salafistes qui relèvent de l’organisation mondiale Al-Qaïda ont trouvé refuge dans la région du Sahel, territoire étendu et éloigné, parfait pour l’entraînement des terroristes, l’enlèvement d’infortunés innocents – et je me joins à tous ceux qui ont exprimé leurs condoléances aux familles des deux citoyens français récemment assassinés – et, bien sûr, le trafic de drogues et la criminalité organisée.
