Senator Lewis, a well-respected lawyer from St. John's, Newfoundland, a bencher of the law society and a chair of the Law Foundation of Newfoundland, brought to our work here his wit, his intelligence, and his ability to get to the heart of an issue in a way that I have admired since I came here as a rookie senator in 1986.
