IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Some Member States (e.g. FI, FR, LT) use video or tele-conferences to address the shortages of interpreters in particular languages or in particular locations, and important practical cooperation initiatives, notably the Interpreters’ Pool Project, have been carried out in this respect.

In the light of this supposed absence of pressure for homogeneity in age-rating, the PEGI age-rating system, which replaces most national age rating systems in respect of video games, is indeed an interesting initiative.

(3) As a result of that research, and after consultation with the appropriate Committee, with experts from the industrial and commercial sectors concerned, and with other non-governmental organisations, the Commission identified the need to establish recommendations in respect of the use, for the marketing, advertising and promotion of vehicles to the general public, of internet marketing and electronic storage media such as video tapes, DVDs and CD-ROMs.
