– (FR) Mr President, I should like to begin by congratulating the rapporteur on his position, and I note that Parliament finds itself in a tight corner between a Commission that is very ambitious and a Council that is, as usual, cautious, between climate sceptics and climate critics, and between industry supporters and environmentalists. This is therefore a balanced position that remains ambitious, since the target of 147 grams in 2020 will give industry the time to make the technological leap while simultaneously encouraging it to be highly efficient.
- Monsieur le Président, je tiens d’abord à féliciter le rapporteur pour sa position et je constate que le Parlement se trouve dans une juste position entre une Commission qui était très ambitieuse, un Conseil qui était, comme d’habitude, prudent, entre les climato-sceptiques et les climato-critiques, entre les amis de l’industrie et les défenseurs de l’environnement, position donc équilibrée, qui reste ambitieuse puisque l’objectif de 147 g en 2020 donnera le temps à la fois à l’industrie de faire le saut technologique et l’incitera à être performante.
