Council Directive 90/314/EEC lays down a number of important consumer rights in relation to package travel, in particular with regard to information requirements, the liability of traders in relation to the performance of a package, and protection against the insolvency of an organiser or a retailer.
La directive 90/314/CEE du Conseil confère un certain nombre de droits importants aux consommateurs dans le domaine des voyages à forfait, en ce qui concerne notamment les obligations d'information, la responsabilité des professionnels liée à l'exécution d'un forfait et la protection conférée en cas d'insolvabilité d'un organisateur ou d'un détaillant.

It should be clarified that the regulatory requirements of this Directive on insolvency protection and information in relation to linked travel arrangements should also apply to traders not established in a Member State which by any means direct their activities within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008 and Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council to one or more Member States.
