It is an incredible feeling to be surrounded by people who do not regard me as an oddity when I comment that I get a swelling of pride when I look at the Parliament Buildings or that I get tears in my eyes when I sing ‘O Canada' at a sporting event or that I cry when I stand in the Wayne Gretzky section of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
C'est un sentiment incroyable que d'être entourée de gens qui ne me trouvent pas bizarre quand je leur dis que j'éprouve de la fierté à la vue des édifices du Parlement, que j'ai les larmes aux yeux quand je chante l'hymne national à l'occasion d'une manifestation sportive ou que j'en verse quelques-unes quand je me trouve dans la partie du Temple de la renommée du hockey qui rend hommage à Wayne Gretzky.
