The acceptance by a party of service by electronic means is without prejudice to his right to refuse to accept a document that is not written in, or accompanied by a translation into, the official language of the Member State in which he is domiciled or habitually resident or, if there are several official languages in that Member State, the official language or one of the official languages of the place where that party is domiciled or habitually resident, or in a language which he understands.

The transmitting agency has to advise the applicant that, in case the document is not in a language which the addressee understands or in the official language of the Member State where service is to be effected, the latter can refuse to accept the document.
