In fact, of the many Nobel Peace Prizes that have been awarded on the question of human rights, three have been won in the Asia region: the Dalai lama; Aung San Suu Kyi, who is the leader of the opposition in Burma, and most recently; and Hose Ramos-Horta and Carlos Belo of East Timor.
