H. whereas the RAC opinion does acknowledge the endocrine mode of action of DEHP but also recognises that it has been included in Annex XIV because of its reproductive toxicity classification (Article 57(c)) and not on the basis of endocrine disrupting properties (Article 57(f)); whereas, as a consequence, the current assessment of DEHP is limited to its reproductive toxicity;

On 8 March 2013, RAC adopted by consensus its opinion on the restriction proposed in the Annex XV dossier. According to the RAC opinion, the restriction is the most appropriate Union-wide measure to address the identified risks posed by DCB used as an air freshener or deodoriser in toilets, homes, offices or other indoor public areas, both in terms of effectiveness and practicability.

Le 28 novembre 2012, le comité d’évaluation des risques (ci-après le «CER») a adopté par consensus l’avis relatif à la restriction proposée dans le dossier conforme aux prescriptions de l’annexe XV. Dans son avis, il estime que la restriction est la mesure la plus appropriée à l’échelle de l’Union, tant en termes d’efficacité que de praticabilité, pour prévenir les risques mis en évidence concernant les composés de chrome (VI) dans le cuir.

According to the RAC opinion, the threshold of 3 mg/kg (0,0003 % by weight) of chromium VI content in the total dry weight of the leather corresponds to exposures higher than the Lowest-Observed Adverse Effect Level for elicitation.
