Provision is made for funding the multi-modal corridor linking Portugal to Spain and the rest of Europe (a priority project under the trans-European network plan). This will involve completing the road and rail links that connect the national borders to the north and south via the Atlantic coast (Oporto-Lisbon-Faro), completing the main links between the urban centres on the coast and the eastern border (Guarda-Lisbon-Oporto corridor), and eliminating infrastructure bottlenecks at ports and airports.
