Directive 98/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 June 1998 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations and of rules on Information Society services (38) shall not apply to the measures falling within the notification procedure specified in this Article.

‘harmonised standard’ means any European standard adopted by one of the European standardisation bodies listed in Annex I to Directive 98/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 June 1998 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations and of rules on Information Society services (16) in connection with a mandate by the Commission drawn up in accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 6(3) of that Directive, which, by itself or together with other standards, provides a solution as regards compliance with a legal provision;
«norme harmonisée»: toute norme européenne adoptée par l'un des organismes de normalisation européens énumérés à l'annexe I de la directive 98/34/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 22 juin 1998 prévoyant une procédure d'information dans le domaine des normes et réglementations techniques et des règles relatives aux services de la société de l'information (16) dans le cadre d'un mandat de la Commission établi conformément à la procédure visée à l'article 6, paragraphe 3, de ladite directive et qui, seule ou conjointement à d'autres normes, constitue une solution pour le respect d'une disposition légale;

Where provisions of this Directive can be implemented only by requiring specific technical features in electronic communications networks, Member States shall inform the Commission in accordance with the procedure provided for by Directive 98/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 June 1998 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical standards and regulations and of rules on information society services(9).

(25) Whereas for the purposes of certification and administrative cooperation procedures, the relevant provisions of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2454/93 of 2 July 1993 laying down provisions for the implementation of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2913/92 of 12 October 1992 establishing the community Customs Code (6) should be applied; whereas, however, special procedures should be provided in order to safeguard the legitimate interests of importers using the special incentive arrangements;
