F. whereas, furthermore, the winner of the European Parliament's 2002 Sakharov Prize, Oswaldo Payá Sardiñas, has been systematically denied the freedom to leave Cuba and to accept the invitations issued by this Parliament and by other European Union bodies,

Strongly rejects the systematic violence and the recurrent acts of harassment suffered by the Sakharov Prize laureates the ‘Damas de Blanco’ (‘Ladies in White’) when they peacefully demonstrate and ask for the release of their relatives, incarcerated in Cuba for more than five years now; calls on its President to reiterate to the Cuban authorities its request that Oswaldo Payá, winner of the Sakharov Prize in 2002, be permitted, in accordance with the invitation extended to him by the European institutions to appear before them in person and explain the current political situation in Cuba; further calls on its President to express to the Cuban authorities Parliament's strong wish and determination to welcome, in the coming weeks, the ‘Damas de Blanco’ to one of Parliament's places of work for the official presentation to them of the 2005 Sakharov Prize;
s'élève avec force contre la violence systématique et les actes répétés de harcèlement dont sont victimes les «Dames en blanc», lauréates du prix Sakharov en 2005, lorsqu'elles manifestent pacifiquement et demandent la libération des membres de leurs familles emprisonnés à Cuba depuis plus de cinq ans maintenant; invite son Président à demander une nouvelle fois aux autorités cubaines de permettre à Oswaldo Payá, lauréat du prix Sakharov en 2002, de répondre à l'invitation qui lui a été adressée par les institutions européennes pour brosser personnellement, devant elles, un tableau de la situation politique actuelle à Cuba; demande également à son Président de faire part aux autorités cubaines du vif souhait et de la détermination du Parlement d'accueillir, dans les prochaines semaines, les «Dames en blanc» sur l'un des lieux de travail du Parlement afin de leur remettre officiellement le prix Sakharov;
