It has not yet received all the replies, but there is a geographical breakdown as follows: traditionally, there is a moderate approach in the Scandinavian countries (between 50 and 70 prisoners per 100 000 inhabitants), a group of Member States with a rate below 100 prisoners (Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands) and a group with a rate of between 100 and 150 prisoners per 100 000 inhabitants (Spain, Great Britain, Portugal and a few new Member States).
