Through the years, different mayors, no matter what their political stripe, whether it was Mel Lastman, who, last I saw, was a Conservative, or the present mayor, David Miller, with the entire City of Toronto council, has said over and over again that the Toronto Port Authority really should come back to the hands of Torontonians, because right now the users, the municipalities and any stakeholders in the neighbourhood basically have absolutely no influence over this port authority.
Au fil des ans, des maires de différentes allégeances politiques — pensons à Mel Lastman, qui était conservateur aux dernières nouvelles, ou au maire actuel, David Miller — et l'ensemble du conseil municipal de Toronto ont répété encore et encore que l'Administration portuaire de Toronto devait vraiment être gérée par les Torontois, car à l'heure actuelle les utilisateurs, les municipalités et les intervenants du quartier ne peuvent exercer aucune influence sur cette administration portuaire.
