The management of post-ECSC assets would follow roughly the same pattern as that applied by the ECSC Treasury: the reserves of the ECSC are placed in a conservative group of authorised investments, including bonds issued by or guaranteed by EU institutions or Member States, and in a group of banks, subject to credit criteria and a quality control procedure.

Secondly, under Article 95 of the ECSC Treaty the Commission will propose that the Council extend aid to ECSC workers in sectors of activity not covered by the Treaty, but who meet requierements as regards age and years of service giving them entitlement to early retirement when, without themselves being directly affected by a closure, they agree to leave the undertaking and give up their post to younger ECSC workers whose jobs are affected.
