The recently established EU-Brazil maritime transport policy dialogue should be further developed with a view to improving the conditions for Brazilian and EU shipping companies, facilitating maritime transport in Brazil and the EU, developing enhanced co-operation between the two sides in all areas of mutual interest, including ports, inland waterway transport, infrastructure and maritime safety, as well as discussing convergence of approaches in international organisations.

The procuring entity is defined in Article 3(2) and (3) of Act No 263/1999 Z. z. on Public Procurement, as amended, as a legal entity which deals in inland navigation by maintaining the waterways and by establishing and maintaining public ports and waterway facilities (Act No 338/2000 Z. z.— e.g. Prístav Bratislava, Prístav Komárno, Prístav Štúrovo).

This shiptype was invented in Europe in 1988 but the complex global logistics required to build transport services based on these large vessels (e.g. extension of port facilities, waterways and hinterland connections) have only made it possible now to bring a great number of vessels into operation.
