A significant rise in prices within the meaning of paragraph 1 exists when, following a general price rise in all Community regions, the average price of pig carcases on the Community representative markets given in the Annex to Regulation (EEC) No 2123/89 is at a higher level than the average of those prices established for the previous period of three marketing years, from 1 July to 30 June, adjusted if necessary on the basis of cyclical trends in the prices in question, with the addition of the difference between that average and the average of basic prices in force during the period under consideration, taking into account any amendment of the basic price by comparison with the price emerging from the average for the said period.
