The PEETI objectives are: (i) to identify, monitor and characterise the situation of young victims of exploitative child labour or dangerous work as a consequence of having dropped out of school; (ii) to guarantee a response to the situations identified in the PEETI plan, notably by implementing projects within the framework of the Individual Education and Training Plan (Portuguese acronym: PIEF), by employing flexible and differentiated strategies and by pursuing the School Holidays programme ; (iii) to combat the worst forms of child labour (ILO Convention No 182 and ILO Recommendation No 190, both ratified by Portugal); (iv) to promote the social and educational integration of children and young victims of child labour.
Les objectifs du PEETI sont les suivants: (i) identifier, accompagner et caractériser la situation des enfants victimes de l'exploitation par le travail infantile ou à risque, conséquence de l'abandon scolaire ; (ii) garantir une réponse aux situations signalées au PEETI, notamment en mettant en oeuvre des projets dans le cadre du Plan individuel d'éducation et de formation (PIEF), en recourant à des stratégies souples et différenciées et en poursuivant également le programme Vacances scolaires ; (iii) lutter contre les pires formes d'exploitation du travail infantile (convention nº 182 et recommandation nº 190 de l'OIT, ratifiées par le Portugal) ; (iv) promouvoir l'inclusion sociale et éducative des enfants et des jeunes victimes de l'exploitation par le travail.

To attain the objectives described, the PEETI plan methodologically implements the following measures: indication/diagnosis/reporting of child labour and school drop-out situations; an integrated programme and individual education and training plans; a school holidays programme/projects; allocation of training grants, monitoring of situations involving the worst forms of exploitation.
Afin d'atteindre les objectifs décrits, le PEETI met en oeuvre méthodologiquement les mesures suivantes: signalisation/diagnostic/acheminement des situations de travail infantile et d'abandon scolaire ; programme intégré et plans individuels d'éducation et de formation ; programme/projets de vacances ; attribution de bourses de formation, accompagnement de situations des pires formes d'exploitation.

The PEETI plan was introduced in Portugal in 1998 as part of the active social policies to make individual citizens (minors and their families) and the general public more involved and more accountable in the fight against child labour.
