This technique will allow quantitative evaluation of the impact of fishery and environmental changes. In addition, two projects illustrate two options, radically different, for underwater observation: the "ALIPOR" project will develop a lightweight structure while the "GEOSTAR" project follows a more ambitious and futuristic alternative: to build up a non-inhabited, modular station which will be placed on the sea bed.
