The Commission stressed that if access to protection can be offered, as quickly as possible and as close to the needs as possible of those concerned and which facilitated a safe and legal avenue to protection in the EU, then there would be no need for those in need of protection to pay traffickers thousands of Euros for a dangerous and illegal journey to the EU.
À cette occasion, la Commission a exposé son point de vue sur les avantages d'une entrée organisée dans l'UE des personnes nécessitant une protection internationale.Elle a souligné que si une protection correspondant autant que faire se peut aux besoins des intéressés et facilitant un accès sûr et légal à une protection dans l'UE pouvait être accordée aussi rapidement que possible, les personnes nécessitant une protection n'auraient pas besoin de payer des milliers d'euros à des passeurs pour entrer clandestinement dans l'UE dans des conditions dangereuses.
