As a director of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, I stand together with my constituents, my colleagues in the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group and my New Democrat colleagues in commemoration of this disaster, in remembrance of the victims and in solidarity to take all necessary action to prevent any such disaster from occurring in the future.

Mr. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 34(1), I have the honour to present, in both official languages, the report of the Canadian delegation of the Canada-Japan interparliamentary group, respecting its participation in the 17th bilateral meeting of the Japan-Canada Parliamentary Friendship League held in Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler, British Columbia, January 3 to 7, 2011, and the report of the Canadian parliamentary delegation respecting its participation and the annual visit of the co-chairs of the Canada-Japan interparliamentary group to Tokyo, Japan, February 13 to 18, 2010.
Monsieur le Président, conformément au paragraphe 34(1) du Règlement, j'ai l'honneur de présenter, dans les deux langues officielles, le rapport de la délégation canadienne du groupe interparlementaire Canada-Japon concernant sa participation à la 17 réunion bilatérale de la Ligue d'amitié des parlementaires Japon-Canada, tenue à Vancouver, Squamish et Whistler, en Colombie-Britannique, du 3 au 7 janvier 2011, et le rapport de la délégation parlementaire canadienne concernant sa participation à la visite annuelle des coprésidents du groupe interparlementaire Canada-Japon, tenue à Tokyo, au Japon, du 13 au 18 février 2010.

Welcomes the establishment in June 2008 of the India-European Parliament Parliamentary Friendship Group, which will act within the Indian Parliament as a counterpart to the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Republic of India; hopes that this positive development will launch a meaningful and structured dialogue between the two Parliaments on issues of global and common interest through regular bilateral visits and round-table discussions;
5. se félicite de la création, en juin 2008, du groupe d'amitié parlementaire Inde-Parlement européen, qui sera le pendant, au sein du parlement indien, de la délégation du Parlement européen pour les relations avec la République de l'Inde; espère que cette initiative constructive marquera le début d'un dialogue positif et structuré entre les deux parlements sur des dossiers d'intérêt général et commun, grâce à l'organisation régulière de visites bilatérales et de tables rondes;

6. Welcomes the establishment in June 2008 of the India-European Parliament Parliamentary Friendship Group, which will act within the Indian Parliament as a counterpart to the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Republic of India; expresses its strong hope that this initiative will lead to a substantive and meaningful dialogue between the two Parliaments on issues of global and common interest through regular bilateral visits and roundtable discussions, which will need to be adequately resourced;
6. se félicite de la création, en juin 2008, du groupe d'amitié parlementaire Inde-Parlement européen, qui sera le pendant, au sein du parlement indien, de la délégation du Parlement européen pour les relations avec la République de l'Inde; espère vivement que cette initiative mènera à un dialogue approfondi et constructif entre les deux parlements sur des dossiers d'intérêt général et commun, grâce à l'organisation régulière de visites bilatérales et de tables rondes auxquelles il conviendra d'affecter des ressources suffisantes;

At the parliamentary level, we would strongly recommend the setting up of an EP-Macao Parliamentary Friendship Group, with regular meetings held in both regions, to promote and deepen links between this Parliament and the MSAR Legislative Assembly.
Au niveau parlementaire, nous recommandons vivement la mise en place d'un groupe d'amitié PE‑Macao, avec la tenue de réunions régulières dans les deux régions, en vue de promouvoir et d'approfondir les liens entre le Parlement européen et l'Assemblée législative de la RAS de Macao.
