Definition: In many cases, a disturbance of sleep is one of the symptoms of another disorder, either mental or physical. Definition: Arises as a delayed or protracted response to a stressful event or situation (of either brief or long duration) of an exceptionally threatening or catastrophic nature, which is likely to cause pervasive distress in almost anyone. The onset follows the trauma with a latency period that may range from a few weeks to months. The course is fluctuating but recovery can be expected in the majority of cases. Over and above the general and sectoral policies which affect young people, there is another type of activity which encourages mobility, inter-cultural exchanges, citizenship and voluntary work. Within this context, and on the basis of Article 149 of the Treaty [3], the EU has introduced a series of programmes, including the YOUTH programme, which have in turn led to mobility and exchange schemes for young people.
