(7) Where, on the coming into force of this Act, a person has a binding opinion furnished under section 4 of the Foreign Investment Review Act, chapter 46 of the Statutes of Canada, 1973-74, that the person is not a non-eligible person under that Act, that person is deemed to be a Canadian for so long as the material facts on which that opinion was based remain substantially unchanged or for two years from the date of the coming into force of this Act, whichever period is shorter.
(7) La personne qui, lors de l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi, est bénéficiaire d’une opinion remise en vertu de l’article 4 de la Loi sur l’examen de l’investissement étranger, chapitre 46 des Statuts du Canada de 1973-74, à l’effet qu’elle n’est pas une personne non admissible au sens de cette loi est réputée être un Canadien pendant deux ans à compter de l’entrée en vigueur de la présente loi ou tant qu’une modification importante n’est pas apportée aux faits importants sur lesquels cette opinion est fondée, si cette modification survient avant l’expiration de la période de deux ans.
