In short, I feel we have today a sufficiently sound text to be implemented fairly quickly, informed by our experience with the high-speed train project and benefiting from the excellent collaboration between the various parliamentary groups within the Committee on Regional Policy, Transport and Tourism – and I would like to praise all my fellow committee members, from all the groups – as well as collaboration between the Commission, the Council and Parliament. Personally speaking, I am delighted that we have created such an ambitious document so quickly which today really gets the European rail system underway.
Bref, nous aboutissons aujourd'hui, je crois, à un texte qui est assez solide, assez rapidement opératoire, fort de l'expérience de la grande vitesse, et qui s'est nourri d'une collaboration exemplaire entre les différents groupes parlementaires au sein de la commission des transports - et je me permets de rendre hommage à l'ensemble de mes collègues des différents groupes - mais aussi entre la Commission, le Conseil et le Parlement, et, personnellement, je me félicite que l'on ait abouti si vite sur un dossier aussi ambitieux qui, aujourd'hui, met véritablement en marche l'Europe du rail.

On behalf of my committee, the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, I would particularly like to stress the importance of improving the quality of teaching in schools and vocational training, and seeking to implement a system for exchanging good practice and methodological tools. These are ways of achieving social cohesion and reducing unemployment.
Je voudrais, au nom de ma commission, qui est celle de l'emploi et des affaires sociales, insister plus particulièrement sur l'importance que revêt l'amélioration qualitative de l'enseignement scolaire ou de la formation professionnelle, ce souci de mettre en œuvre un dispositif d'échange de bonnes pratiques, d'outils méthodologiques, comme contribution importante à la cohésion sociale et à la lutte contre le chômage.
