With regard to the reduced number of pension point years required for the calculation of a full supplementary pension for persons born before 1937, the conditions in the legislation of Norway regarding periods of residence in the territory of Norway shall continue to apply.

33. Highlights that in order to achieve the decarbonisation of the EU power supply in the long-term, there is a need to pursue closer integration with neighbouring countries and regions such as Norway, Switzerland and the southern Mediterranean; stresses that Europe can benefit from the development of the substantial renewable sources of energy in these regions to meet both local demand and, with the development of long-distance grid interconnections, a limited percentage of EU demand; notes that more interconnection will enable Member States to export and import renewable electricity to ensure a reliable energy supply, and to balance variable power generation such as wind; points out, in this context, that interconnection to Norway offers a particular advantage to the EU because it opens access to the significant electricity storage capabilities of Norwegian hydropower plants;

9. Notes the importance of the EU-OPEC energy dialogue and encourages the Commission to intensify the energy dialogue with Norway; points out that cooperation with the countries of the Caspian region remains an important priority;

Two coordination meetings have already been organised in this regard and I would like to point out that the Commission has also, apart from addressing all the neighbouring countries of the Mediterranean Rim, but also Russia and Norway, held talks (it has not only addressed all these countries in writing) to stress the importance for maritime safety of the control of oil tankers by port authorities, but that, also, specifically with Russia, Norway, Algeria and Morocco, we have dealt with these issues in the bilateral meetings with the relevant ministers and, in the specific case of Russia and Norway, we are looking at the possibility of establishing a control system for maritime traffic in the Baltic and the North Sea, which allows us to increase safety and prevent any kind of problem.
Deux réunions de coordination ont déjà eu lieu à ce sujet et je tiens à rappeler que la Commission, en plus de dialoguer avec tous les pays voisins du bassin méditerranéen, mais aussi avec la Russie et la Norvège, a déjà discuté avec ces pays (elle ne s’est pas limitée à correspondre avec eux par courrier) pour souligner l’importance de la sécurité maritime et du contrôle des pétroliers par les autorités portuaires et que nous avons abordé ces sujets lors de réunions bilatérales avec les ministres compétents de certains pays, concrètement la Russie, la Norvège, l’Algérie et le Maroc et que, dans le cas de la Russie et de la Norvège, nous étudions la possibilité d’établir un système de contrôle du trafic maritime dans la région de la Baltique et de la mer du Nord qui permette d’améliorer la sécurité et d’éviter tous types de problèmes.
