For the purposes of the application of Article 20(1) and Article 27(3) of Regulation (EC) No. 883/2004, if the person does not reside on the territory of the competent Member State, the authorisation referred to in Article 20(1) of Regulation (EC) No.883/2004 shall be requested from the competent institution by the institution of the place of residence.
2. Aux fins de l'application des articles 20, paragraphe 1, et 27, paragraphe 3, du règlement (CE) n° 883/2004, lorsque la personne ne réside pas sur le territoire de l'État membre compétent, l'autorisation visée à l'article 20, paragraphe 1, du règlement (CE) n° 883/2004 est demandée par l'institution du lieu de résidence à l'institution compétente.

For pensioners and the members of their family other than those referred to in Article 27(5) of Regulation (EC) No. 883/2004, the institution of the Member State responsible for expenses related to the benefits in kind provided in the Member State of residence shall be considered to be the competent institution for granting the authorisation referred to in Article 20(1) of Regulation (EC) No. 883/2004.

In the situations referred to in Article 13(1) and (2) of Regulation (EC) No 883/2004, the designated institutions of the Member States concerned shall determine, by common accord, the legislation applicable to the person concerned, having regard to the provisions of Article 13(1) and (2) of Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 and of Article 14(2) and (3) of this Regulation.
2. Dans les situations visées à l'article 13, paragraphes 1 et 2, du règlement (CE) n° 883/2004, les institutions désignées des États membres concernés déterminent d'un commun accord la législation applicable à l'intéressé, compte tenu des dispositions de l'article 13, paragraphes 1 et 2, du règlement (CE) n° 883/2004 et de l'article 14, paragraphes 2 et 3, du présent règlement.
