Definition: A depressive episode, which may be prolonged, arising in the aftermath of a schizophrenic illness. Some schizophrenic symptoms, either positive or negative , must still be present but they no longer dominate the clinical picture. These depressive states are associated with an increased risk of suicide. If the patient no longer has any schizophrenic symptoms, a depressive episode should be diagnosed (F32.-). If schizophrenic symptoms are still florid and prominent, the diagnosis should remain that of the appropriate schizophrenic subtype (F20.0-F20.3).
Définition: Episode dépressif, éventuellement prolongé, survenant au décours d'une maladie schizophrénique. Certains symptômes schizophréniques positifs ou négatifs doivent encore être présents, mais ne dominent plus le tableau clinique. Ce type d'état dépressif s'accompagne d'un risque accru de suicide. Si le patient ne présente plus aucun symptôme schizophrénique, on doit faire un diagnostic d'épisode dépressif (F32.-). Si les symptômes schizophréniques restent florides et au premier plan de la symptomatologie, on doit garder le diagnostic de la forme clinique appropriée de schizophrénie (F20.0-F20.3).
